Flowfit- Workout Logging App
FlowFit is a gym workout logging app I built to make tracking workouts, creating plans, and logging sets and weights easier. It has a clean interface, customizable themes, and a simple way to manage everything related to workouts.
About the Project I wanted to make a gym logging app where I could manage my workout plans and log my sets without going through too many screens or complicated steps. The main focus was to keep everything simple and make logging a workout as quick as possible.
The app has four main sections: Workout, Plan, Progress, and Profile. Each section has its own purpose, whether it's logging a workout, managing exercises, checking stats, or updating personal details.
Workout Logging The workout screen is where most of the action happens. I wanted logging sets to be as easy as clicking a button.
You can increase or decrease the weight and reps directly from the exercise card. Once you complete a set, it's saved, and the next set is added automatically. You don't have to manually create a new set every time.
When you start a workout, the app tracks the session time. You can also add notes to your sessions and review the completed sets, total volume, and time taken before finishing the workout.
Creating Workout Plans The plan editor lets you create your own workout splits and organize exercises based on your routine. You can add exercises, change their order, duplicate them, or remove them whenever you want.
You can also set the number of sets, reps, and rest time for each exercise, so you can build a plan that fits your training style.
Importing Workout Plans with ChatGPT This is one of the features I wanted to make more useful.
Instead of manually adding every exercise, you can ask ChatGPT to create a workout plan in a specific text format. The app has an example template that shows how the plan should be written.
Once ChatGPT generates the plan, you can copy and paste it into FlowFit. The app reads the format and converts the supported exercises and workout days into a plan that you can use and edit.
This makes it much easier to create a workout routine without having to enter everything one by one.
Profile and Fitness Details The profile section lets you enter your weight, height, and age. The app uses your height and weight to calculate your BMI, and you can log your weight as it changes over time.
There are also sections for workout streaks, personal records, and other stats. I'm still working on the progress section, so there's more to improve there.
Customization I wanted users to be able to customize the app instead of being stuck with the same settings.
You can switch between light mode, dark mode, and automatic appearance. You can also change the measurement units between kilograms and pounds.
For the accent color, you can choose from predefined colors or pick your own. This lets you change the overall feel of the interface without affecting how the app works.
The app also supports importing and exporting workout data, making it easier to back up your information or move it when needed.
Design I went with a dark interface, simple typography, rounded cards, and red accents. I wanted the app to look clean without making it feel empty, and I kept the important controls easy to find.
Since this is an app you might use in the middle of a workout, I focused on making the common actions quick and straightforward. Adding weights, changing reps, and completing sets shouldn't take more effort than necessary.
What's Next? FlowFit is in Beta. The main workout logging and plan management features are in place, along with plan importing, profile settings, and customization.
I'm continuing to work on the progress tracking and other parts of the app to make the overall experience better but you can try it and use it
